AIR QUALITY CONSULTANT

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Environmental Planning Team. We are offering an excellent opportunity to grown and develop with a new team therefore you must be willing to develop your technical and managerial skills across the Air Quality Sector.

You will be an ambitious individual who will join us at an exciting stage in our expansion to assist in the development of our existing team across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, rail, highways and other emerging areas of operation.

The individual we seek will have a good level of IT competence and will have several years of experience in an Air Quality role. The applicant will require full knowledge in Air Quality Assessments, Air Quality Monitoring, Air Dispersion Modelling. Additional experience with Odour assessments would be beneficial although now essential.

The applicant will be joining the team at an early stage of its growth and development, and as such, the individual will need to be confident in their technical knowledge and general requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To support our continued growth, we are seeking to recruit an Air Quality Consultant or Senior Air Quality Consultant based in the Midlands.

The successful candidate will support a wide range of projects across sectors including housing, transport, energy, government. You will have a client-facing role with responsibility in terms of managing project teams and project delivery. You will lead and contribute to the development of proposals for new work and for large and complex public and private sector tenders.

You will be involved in overseeing and delivering stand-alone air quality assessments for new developments, preparing chapters for Environmental Statements including those that form part of Development Consent Order (DCO) applications and undertaking leading edge research projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential

  • Significant experience in the technical management of large and complex air quality assessments.
  • Experience in atmospheric dispersion modelling, particularly for the assessment of air quality impacts related to major transport and industrial infrastructure.
  • Wide understanding of ambient air quality monitoring methods.
  • Wide understanding of software and hardware required for Air Quality Assessments.
  • Good communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong technical capability and ability to review and interpret data.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Odour monitoring and modelling experience.
  • Environmental permitting and regulator liaison experience.
  • Experience of working with other environmental disciplines including noise and biodiversity.
  • Recent programming, machine learning, statistics and optimization experience.
