Construction Noise Surveys

All construction sites will produce varying levels of noise which cannot be avoided. However, this can be planned and monitored to control the levels of harmful noise that is created during a construction project. The aim is to minimise the noise exposure which construction workers, as well as people living and working within close vicinity, will sustain.

Our Acoustic Consultants can assist with a variety of construction noise related issues, both before pre-construction and during the construction phase.

Pre-construction, our consultants can prepare a noise management plan which takes into account the nature of the construction project, the equipment used and the duration of the project. Using data collected from the project plans, the noise management plan will outline the measures that need to be implemented to limit noise to a suitable level. This includes construction and demolition projects.

During construction, our consultants can attend site to ensure that the noise and vibration being produced is not exceeding the expected levels. This can be achieved by undertaking long-term monitoring throughout a project or by completing spot check compliance visits using a sound level meter.

Construction Site Noise and Vibration Assessments may be a planning requirement put in place to ensure the safety of workers and to not adversely impact those within close vicinity to the project. Omnia can assist with a variety of noise-related issues to help achieve planning permission.
